In the last few years Indian Railways introduced Kawach System to enchance the safety and efficiency in its operations.
How Does the Kavach System Work?
The term kavach means armor in Hindi. The Kavach System stands for Kavach Train Protection System is an advanced technology made for preventing train accidents due to colliosions and ensure the secure operations of trains.
How Does the Kavach System Work?
The Kavach System in Railway operates using combined technologies. It joins a signaling system with an automatic train protection mechanism which assure the train safety operations. It works in three steps.
1: Automatic Train Protection (ATP)
This system uses ATP to monitor train actual speed and its location. This system detects any signal violations and safety breach and automatically correct it.
2: Signal Communication
This system communicates with track and train signals and ensure that necessary parameters are met. It automatically adjust train speeds and breaks.
3: Real-time Monitoring
It provides real time data to railways control rooms and also provide any anomalies or issues detected in any train.
Kavach System Implementation
The Kavach System has been gradually impleted on high traffic routes with a history of safety concerns. As the implementation of Kavach System is increasing day by day, it reduces the railways accidents and ensure overall safety of the Indian Railways network
