Paralympics 2024 - Last hope for medals in Olymics for India in Paris

India is preparing up to send its largest delegation of 84 para-athletes to Paris 2024 Paralympics sports, starting on August 28 which includes top paralympics medal prospects Sumit Antil and Avani Lekhara. Both These athletes have shown extraordinary achievements in last events, enhancing expectations for medals in Paris. Here is the list of 5 top athletes from Indian team.
Sumit Antil
The para javelin thrower won the gold medal in Tokyo with a best attempt of 68.55m, but also tore the world record thrice. He’s since broke the world record twice last year at the Para Asian Games (73.29m) and the Para World Championships (70.83) . Sumit lost his limb in a road accident nine years ago.
Avani Lekhara
Three years ago, at the Tokyo Paralympics, Avani made up with a gold medal. The para shooter is the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Paralympics. At the age of 11, Avani met up with a car mishap.
Krishna Nagar
The 17-year-old girl from Jammu born with a rare congenital disease called phocomelia is the only female in international para-archer to shoot without arms.

Yogesh Kathunia
At a early age, Yogesh was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome causing quadriparesis. At the 2018 Berlin Para Athletics Grand Prix, he won a gold medal and set the world record with a 45.18m throw in the men’s discus event.
