Chicago (WLS) — The campaign of former President Donald Trump announced on Monday night that he will be attending this week's National Association of Black Journalists Convention in Chicago.
At the Hilton Chicago, which is situated at 720 South Michigan Avenue in the South Loop, the convention will take place from July 31 to August 4. The conference is described as a journalism education, career development, networking, and innovative event on the NABJ website.
In front of convention attendees, Trump's campaign and NABJ announced that he will take part in a Q&A with political journalists that will focus on the most important problems affecting the Black community. On Wednesday at 12:00, it will take place.
The event will be moderated by Rachel Scott, senior congressional correspondent for ABC News, with Harris Faulkner, anchor of The Faulkner Focus and co-host of Outnumbered on FOX News, and Kadia Goba, senior political reporter for Semafor.
Vice President Kamala Harris was also sent an invitation to attend this year's convention, according to NABJ, and her confirmation is still pending.
The organization stated that although the event is closed to the general public, it would be live-streamed on NABJ's Facebook and YouTube accounts.
"We are looking forward to hear from former President Trump on the major issues our members care about most," said Ken Lemon, president, NABJ. "As a journalism organization, NABJ does not support political candidates; but, we recognize the important work that our members accomplish.
